This pattern includes 3 different textures in 2 different weights – easy and challenging. All of the textures and weights make this a beautiful piece of fabric, which is what makes a beautiful blanket.

Finished Measurements: approx 36" x 30", blocked

Yarn:

Brown sheep burley spun (100% wool; 8 oz = 132 yds): 4 hanks #bs03 grey heather

Brown sheep lamb's pride bulky (85% wool, 15% mohair; 100 gr = 125 yds): approx 60 yards # bs181 prarie fire

Note: when working the whipped edging, you may use any yarn of contrasting color of the same or lesser weight, or several colors and weights combined to form 1 strand. Always check www.Macandme.Net for detail photos and flair.

Needles:

Burley spun: size us 13 (9mm), or size needed to obtain gauge

Lamb's pride bulky: size us 11 (8mm), or size needed to obtain gauge

Gauges:

Blanket #1: 12 1/2 sts and 14 rows = 4” in pattern st, using burley spun and size us 13 (9mm) needles; 15 sts and 16 rows = 4" in pattern st, using lamb's pride bulky and size us 11 (8mm) needles

Blanket #2: 8 sts and 18 rows = 4" in garter st, using burley spun and size us 13 (9mm) needles; 12 sts and 12 rows = 4" in garter st, using lamb's pride bulky and size us 11 (8mm) needles

Blanket #3: 14 sts and 14 rows = 4” in k1, p1 rib, using burley spun and size us 13 (9mm) needles; 18 sts and 14 rows = 4" in k1, p1 rib, using lamb's pride bulky and size us 11 (8mm) needles

Notes:

Each blanket has two versions, one worked in burley spun and one worked in lamb's pride bulky. The first cast-on number is for the burley spun blanket; the second is for the lamb's pride bulky blanket. Be sure to use the appropriate needle size for your chosen yarn.
