Update on the Silk Alpaca Babushka's

Review by Sandra on November 17, 2012

    11-17-2012

I wanted to tell you that I have now knitted 6 or 7 Silk Alpaca Babushka's.
I have 2 more which are nearly finished and are to be Christmas gifts.

Each time people see me wearing one of mine, they always ask me about it
and I do tell them about how I sent away to Mac & Me and haven't stopped knitting them.

Thank you once again for creating such a lovely & easy pattern.
Wishing you all a most happy & blessed Thanksgiving.

    Silk Alpaca Babushka

Review by Sandra on June 30, 2011

When I first saw this lovely pattern, I immediately wanted to find it and obtain it ASAP. I was able to receive it from a little Knit shoppe in Victoria,BC Canada. As soon as I received it in the Post - I went to my favourite Yarn shoppe. Since cost was somewhat a factor I had to choose a similar weight of yarn - Cascade 220 Sports yarn in a Demin Blue color.

That evening I started the Pattern and having been casting on the required 300 stitches which is about where I am at present..

In looking at the depth of the shawl, it is somewhat larger than I had anticipated, I am now wondering would it be possible to make this pretty Babushka Shawl smaller? I am a rather petite lady, and although I must wear a Cervical Neck Brace I don't want the Shawl to overwhelm me - if you know what I mean?

I still need to knit 6 Rows of Stockinette Stitch, then to pick up 171 sts for the Ruffle - it may be just a tad huge on me..

I am wondering if you have any suggestions for my next one.. I know some of my ladyfriends would surely love to have one of these pretty Babushka Shawl's to wear.

The Pattern is easy to read & follow which is perfect..
I thank you for designing/creating such a lovely Pattern.
